The traditional polo uniform during this time featured long-sleeve cotton shirts, and to avoid the collars flapping during the game, the players attached buttons to secure them in place. These button downed collar shirts worn by the polo players served as the inspiration for \" original polo shirt\" designed by Manhattan based brooks brothers in 1896.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"color: #565558; font-family: 'Conv_Bodoni Regular'; letter-spacing: 1px;\"\u003eIn the early 1900's a certain French tennis legend Jean Rene \"Lacoste\" modified the original polo shirt to short sleeves and cotton pique fabric to inspire the modern day Lacoste polo. Given its roots linked to India, it was only befitting that we give our shot at re-designing the classic polo.
